TOUCHED by Claudia Rorarius is celebrating its World Premiere in the Cineasti del presente Competition (Concorso Cineasti del presente) at the Locarno International Film Festival 2023.

TOUCHED explores the intricacies of love, dependencies, and the struggles that arise when these elements collide. TOUCHED challenges society’s limited understanding of otherness, beyond pity or admiration, and creates identity far from a world of perfectionism.

SYNOPSIS
Maria, a caregiver, undergoes a transformative journey when she encounters Alex, a paraplegic resident. They embark on a forbidden relationship, fueled by their sexual discovery and deep connection. As their bond deepens, Alex’s demands and humiliation push Maria to her limits.

Claudia Rorarius, born in West-Berlin, has been working successfully as a photographer since 1995. Her intense portraits of celebrities were published in numerous international magazines. She studied directing at the renowned Academy of Media Arts Cologne where she made several internationally awarded fiction and documentary films. CHI L‘HA VISTO (WHO SAW HIM) was her first feature film that she also supervised as a producer. The film was invited to numerous international film festivals (i.e. Montréal World Film Festival, Int. Film Festival Karlovy Vary). In 2021, she shot her second feature film TOUCHED. Currently, she is finishing her third feature film KEN – THE MOVIE, and developing a script for her next film, the science-fiction feature HUMANOID set in the near future.

TOUCHED is produced by 2Pilots Filmproduction in co-production with SoQuiet Filmproduktion. The project is realized in association with the SWR and WDR.
